What if we understood that God doesn’t want us to try to “work” for Him? He actually saved us to enjoy HIM! We weren't supposed to live our life trying to follow a bunch of rules and trying to earn our standing/position with Him. I am a NEW CREATION. (2 Cor. 5:17)  I am a SAINT. (1 Cor. 1:2) I am HOLY and BLAMELESS. (Eph. 1:4) I am FORGIVEN. (Col. 3:13)  I am JUSTIFIED. (Rom. 5:1)  I am the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God. (2 Cor. 5:21)

 I am IN CHRIST and He is IN ME. (1 Cor. 1:30) And if you are a follower of Jesus, you are all those things. We will discover that those are all completed actions because of Jesus. We will not be them some day. All these descriptions of each of us are in the PAST TENSE—a completed action—and the key is to learn how to Live In The Past Tense so we can experience the abundant life that Jesus came to give us.
